With Covid-19 putting fear into the hearts of many, I have felt that it is time to show some good news of what God has done… This is not just a Covid-19 blog, but a “What is God doing” blog… I hope it grows. I invite people from far and wide to share, to make testimonies available for all to find and be encouraged…
The posts to follow will be testimonies I had found online…. I have not yet received many… But I believe that these will encourage you…
For this one, I will specifically focus on our current Covid-19 situation and what God is doing in the midst of this pandemic… I do not believe that God is stopped by a pandemic. Moreover, I believe that when this is over, no one will truly be able to say that God is not real….

It is encouraging to know that God has already shown to be greater than Covid-19.
But what do we see about the evangelism in this time…?
“Atheist, but now returning to God”:
Italian doctor’s testimony goes viral
So I saw a couple of references to this and was hesitant to post it, due to being uncertain about the validity… However, I found another post about it… This is an atheist doctor on the front lines in Italy who had an encounter with someone in the hospital.
This man was a believer and read his Bible to the other patients… God moved in the hospital and the doctors got touched. You can find the whole story on Catholic Focus.
Covid-19 searches lead to Christ
I saw a Portuguese article titled ‘Más de 100 mil personas aceptan a Jesús viendo predicaciones online‘… I had to do a translate on it to be sure what the title was, but from just looking at this I thought it meant that 100 million people accepted Christ from finding God online… The article title was actually, with help from Google Translate, More than 100,000 people accept Jesus by watching preaching online. Because of the language barrier I did not read the whole article, but translated some of it.
I was hesitant to add the previous article, because I don’t speak portuguese. However, I found yet another similar article ‘Coronavirus Searches Lead Millions to Hear About Jesus’.
The first paragraph reads:
Millions of worried people who have turned to Google with their anxiety over COVID-19 have ended up connecting with Christian evangelists in their search results—leading to a spike in online conversions in March.
So many people were led out of their fear directly led to Christ. People who felt that there is no hope, are searching, and finding, their hope in Christ. It looks to me like God uses even this pandemic to call out to people.
Other things happening in Covid-19?
Covid-19 recoveries
I know that there are a lot of infections, and also people dying daily of Covid-19, however, look at the recoveries:
In South Africa, according to sacoronavirus.co.za, we currently have 12 739, of which 5 676 have recovered…
Globally we are looking at 4 502 493 cases, with 1 696 632 recovered, according to WorldOMeters.
I am of the opinion that every recovery is great and that God is at work in each one of them.
The Normal Christian Life
The Normal Christian Life has a Silence Breakers course which was available prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. This has been updated to people who need connect in situations just like Covid-19. The improved course now also gives advice on what to do if you are stuck in a lock down situation or other circumstances where you are unable to reach people face to face.
We are seeing people now being able to reach people even in difficult times.
The Church
The church has now adapted to reach far greater areas. Some churches, who never had streaming capabilities, are now streaming weekly. People now have a much greater input of what God is saying.
People who are discouraged can now find more Word… More sermons…
God has a farther reach, not because He has changed, but because Covid-19 has allowed, or in some cases even forced, the church to expand it’s reach. I believe that God is working in the midst of this to reach more people and bring hope to each person.
Conclusion
I believe that at this moment God is working, even if we feel like He is not. People recover… People get saved and turn to Christ…. God is showing Himself to people all over, and they are nearing to Him…
