I know I have not been writing in a while, but this is possible one of the nights where Good News flourished the most in a while… And I could not help, and I did not want to wait, to want to share what happened… This night was not planned, not thought about, but easily one of the best nights I have had in a long time… God was at work and here is what had happened:
Last night I went to a youth group of a church, where a friend of mine is working.
I went to check out how the youth is operating, since I am also a youth leader at a different church.

I was planning on being in the background, observing as I normally do… But this time, God had different ideas…
It started with games, and then some coffee… And then a planned lesson, all in a normal planned service, and youth group meeting… But was about to happen, not even the youth leader could have planned…
But why is this worth of being written about?
First part of the lesson is about tech… What type of tech do you want to see in this world, all the youth talking and engaging… They know tech, and grew up with tech… So they have ideas… I do have my reservations about tech, even being in a tech based industry, but my reservations is not the actual story here… The best is yet to come…
The next part of the health and technology, and then spoke of health and God, and then the big question… Do you believe that God still heals today? The lesson has some people talking about there opinions… Some believed it was for the days of old, others believed it was myth. Some even believed that is was for a select few… One person said: “God only helps those, whom helps themselves”
And then is wat the Youth Groups time to discuss… The whole time the youth was split into 2 groups… I decided to sit with one of the groups… The group leader opened the discussion and some agreed with what was said in the video… And then… Nothing… Not a peep, no one had comment on If God still heals today…
But does God heal today?

My friend was there next to me at the time, and asked a question, to get the conversation going again… “How many did Jesus heal?”, but there was no response, only a distraction to what God wanted to start… At that point I felt I needed to ask again, as this was the point where it became the most important question of the night…
“Was there any person Jesus prayed for, that did not get healed?”
Again, silence… And I started sharing about the truth… I shared about the healings… There was not one person that Jesus did not see healed when we look at The Bible…
After a couple minutes of sharing, I continued to ask if anyone had any form of pain, illness(flu symptoms or anything) or any other ailments… Two of the young ladies mentioned they had pain (they were not the only ones – will get to this in a little). I asked my friend if she would lay hands on the young ladies, and then continued to pray.
The one young lady had an ankle that was hurt, and the other had discomfort and numbness in her left arm… Both were healed right there… They tested out the pain areas of pain, and there was nothing… They were celebrating a healing… It was evident by the look on their faces that they just experienced what God had done…
And this was a normal thing for me…
But what happened next, I would not have expected on this day
God started to move

This was when thing became a complete God moment, no one planned it, the youth leader stopped the original plan, and let God do God… And it was amazing…
I asked again, and this was still in the small group, and another young lady mention her knee had discomfort and pain… Afterwards I asked her, and she told me that she did not initially believe God could heal, but after seeing it, she jumped for it… I asked my friend again to lay hands on her… And again we prayed for healing… And God did not disappoint… She got up, tested, and she was without any pain… God healed her…
I went to the other group, shared what just happened, brought the groups together… And another young man came forward…
And God was not done yet
I asked him afterwards what happened to him, and he shared it with me… He was in a vehicle accident start of last year and he had pain in his leg, especially while running, and when touching the leg… I asked the three young ladies who just got healed to pray with me, and the pain dropped, however he still had pain…
Another teaching moment… Jesus also prayed multiple times for the one blind person to be fully healed. Someone once said:
“if Jesus had two tries, I get at least 7 chances…”
However, there was a different reason to ask the three young ladies, that was just healed, to pray… It is to show that it is not about the leaders, myself or my friend… But that any follower of Christ can pray… Jesus did send out the 12 with the word:
Matthew 10:8 – Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
This was for all His followers, not just the elite, the leaders or long time Christians/follower of Christ…
As we started to pray the second time, the young man was in tears already, as he experienced what God has done… After the second prayer there was no pain… He was healed…
When God said HEAL THE SICK, He never said “physically only”
God was not done… I was just at the right place, ready to be used by The God of the universe, Who wanted to see these young men and ladies experience Him, probably for the first time in there lives…
We continued sharing truth, between me and the youth leader, keeping in line with what God is doing… We opened the floor for some of the youth, who may have been a bit scared to admit to pain or, well, for anything else… And that is what happened…
A young lady, filled with so much compassion for her friend and grandfather, came forward, and we prayed with her…
Another young man came forward… He was struggling with an addiction of sorts – and an addiction is an addiction, no matter if it is shopping, drugs or porn… And I had the privilege to pray for him, and give him some advice and encourage him…
There is still more to the story
But the story of the young man with the 2 years of pain is not done… He mentioned he was not able to run… I asked him to run… We walked outside, his girlfriend following close behind after hearing this… And at a point, he started running… A good 300m, if I should guess… He came back tired, and he said the following: “I am to tired to cry” – This young man, who had just not been able to run without pain for almost 2 years, ran and had no pain… Not even a bit…
His girlfriend mentioned something about her one finger that she accidentally slammed in a door or drawer, I am not sure exactly… However, she had pain… As we walked back, we prayed for her… Three short prayers, and her finger was also pain free…
God was on a roll, and no one there could challenge that…
Afterwards I chatted to the leader and my friend… This young man, who had just experience healing in a powerful way… To the point of running… Was not a regular… He was hurt in the church… And did not come, so God had plans, seemingly big plans…
I saw God working in a way that I could not have prepared for, the leader did not expect and my friend wasn’t expected, mind you, she wanted to leave early, because she was tired, Until God…
If you every feel like you have a need or a request, drop me a message… I will pray… I do not expect anything in return… Like Matthew 10:8 said: “Freely you received, freely give”
Be blessed, and know, God still heals today…
For context, in 2015 I wrote about the Biblical foundation of Laying on of Hands, which can be found on my Foundations Blog…
